Sirjee, this is not as simple as it sounds. Rail development projects is entirely different altogether. Hubli station looks great both from inside and outside and is not relevant to why IR / divisional zones are unable to complete projects. If you think lack of funds is the ONLY reason, you are mistaken. Sure, it is one such reason.
You cannot satisfy all of the people all of the times. Now there is a demand for 4+ more new states. Look at the number of stops for AK Rajdhani, Look at how SF's are degraded by stopping at every possible roadside dhaba stations. Things go from good to bad to worse and who is responsible for that ? It is easy to...
more... blame the government and officials for the state we are in now. It is we , the people who have messed up everything with unreasonable demands and barbaric aggression if it is not done. Tomorrow someone will ask for a stop at a remote village with no ticket counters for a population of 150 demaning Rajdhani has to stop there or else.. you know what will happen
1. Rail Roko
2. Stone throwing
3. Burn the coaches
4. Remove fishplates and damage property and kill people
Our demands and needs are endless and will never stop. Let us first stop damaging public property , because that is our hard earned money which we are knowingly burning. Hubli station renovation may be offset by not damaging Railway property which happened abt 10 days in Bihar when 3 trains were torched.
You think money is wasted only here. Do we not waste anything at all ? This is the mentality which our country suffers from. We just have a never ending appetite for "CRITICIZING" others. Whatever I do is right and whatever you do is not right. There is only one way and My way is the highway. When everyone thinks like this nothing in the world can improve and as you can see things are just going from good - decent - bad - worse. The worst of the worst is yet to come.
We generate a huge amount of money for the government in taxes. Name one commodity in your life which is not taxable. Money is not an issue at all for the government if only they decide to actually stop eating and start working. As long as we the people are not bothered, nobody is going to do anything. Sab chaltha hai attitude will chal only to an extent. Uske baad kuch nahi rahega chalne ke liye :(
Amidst all these , something like Hubli station is a breath of fresh air. So enjoy what you get, unless you plan to do something about it.
Sorry about my rant, nothing personal though . Cheers
