A collision between a trolley and the Aastha Special train, operating between Jabalpur and Ayodhya, has raised serious concerns about the safety and security measures in the Jabalpur Railway Division. trolley carrying railway engineers, including an SSC, a trolleyman, and laborers. Investigations revealed that the SSC and trolleyman were intoxicated, and while attempting to retrieve a bag that fell from the trolley, the laborers failed to move it out of the way before the train arrived. The train driver, despite efforts to control the speed, couldn't prevent the collision. Following the accident, the SSC and the trolleyman were suspended. The incident highlighted a lack of oversight and disciplinary measures, as similar incidents have occurred in the past, with perpetrators being reinstated despite the severity of the accidents. This incident has prompted a supervisor-level investigation, raising concerns about the safety of the Aastha Special train and the general laxity in safety practices within the Jabalpur Railway Division. The incident occurred on Tuesday night, with investigations ongoing.
