Mhow-Indore DEMU has been cancelled and 16 trains originating from Mhow will now operate from Indore. Their final station will be Indore, not Mhow. Affected trains include the Malwa Express, Rewa Express, Prayagraj Express, Bhopal Intercity, and Yashvantpur Express. All will operate from Indore instead of Mhow. Construction on the second line began in March 2023 and is nearly complete, with only 400 meters of track remaining. The 15-day closure will allow for yard remodelling at Mhow station, including removing extra lines, updating signaling, and connecting the new line. During this period, the Malwa Express, Indore-Bhopal-Indore Intercity, Kamakhya Express, Yashwantpur Express, and Nagpur Express will operate from Indore station. All DEMU trains between Mhow and Ratlam will also operate from Indore. The doubling of the 9.5 km Rau-Mhow railway line, initiated in March 2023, has been completed. The work on platform 1 of the Mhow railway station is also finished. The railway construction department will complete the remaining work before the Railway Safety Commissioner's inspection on May 27. During the closure, two pairs of passenger trains and four pairs of DEMU trains will be completely suspended between Indore and Mhow. The Prayagraj Express and Patna Special will operate from Lakshmibai Nagar, while the Indore-Bilaspur-Indore Narmada Express and Mhow-Rewa-Mhow Express will operate from Ujjain.
