Sumawali. The train service was then extended to Jora, but the extension to Kailaras was delayed due to ongoing overhead electric line work. After a recent inspection by the Commissioner of Railway Safety, the line is expected to be operational soon. In addition to the train inauguration, Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate nine railway crossings between Sithouli and Hetampur, along with 40 crossings on the Sheopur project. The inauguration is planned before the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in March.

per hour. Railway officials declared the trial successful and are preparing to launch a MEMU train service between Gwalior and Kailaras by the end of this month. The first phase of the broad-gauge line, between Gwalior and Sumawali, was completed and inaugurated by Prime Minister Modi on Gandhi Jayanti. The second phase, covering Sumawali to Jaura-Alappur, was also completed and successfully tested two months ago. The third phase, encompassing Jaura-Alappur to Kailaras, spans 13 kilometers. Before the trial run, the CRS and railway officials thoroughly inspected the track, including its traction, signaling, gates, bridges, track points, and other functionalities. Following this, the trial run was conducted at 120 km per hour. The track from Kailaras to Sabalgarh, which is 95% complete, is being constructed at a height of 20 feet. The laying of tracks from Kailaras to Sabalgarh is underway, and upon completion, the total track length will reach 94 kilometers, nearly half of the total length between Gwalior and Sheopur. Bridge construction is in progress between Sabalgarh and Sheopur's Veerpur, with the largest bridge being built over the Kuno River. The MEMU train service between Gwalior and Sumawali currently has 8 coaches, but most of them run empty due to low passenger numbers, resulting in significant losses for the railway. The MEMU train service between Jaura and Sumawali runs three times a day. Railway officials believe that the launch of the Gwalior-Kailaras route will increase passenger numbers and necessitate adjustments to train schedules and frequencies. The railway team will now inspect the power lines before commencing the MEMU train service from Gwalior to Kailaras, which is expected to begin by the end of February.

The Gwalior-Sheopur Broad Gauge project, costing approximately 3,000 crores, is being implemented in three phases. The first phase, from Birla Nagar to Sabalgarh, is nearly complete. The line will then extend to Shyampur and finally to Sheopur. The CRS has been invited to inspect the track and OHE line between Sumawali and Kailaras, with the inspection likely to take place on January 20th. Meanwhile, work has begun on the 70-kilometer stretch between Virpur and Sheopur, which includes laying tracks, building bridges, and constructing eight stations. Gwalior-Sheopur Broad Gauge project, jiska cost almost 3,000 crore hai, three phases mein implement kiya ja raha hai. Birla Nagar se Sabalgarh tak pehla phase almost complete ho chuka hai. Line then Shyampur aur phir Sheopur tak jaayegi. CRS ko Sumawali aur Kailaras ke beech track aur OHE line ka inspection karne ke liye invitation bheja gaya hai. Expected hai ki inspection 20 January ko hoga. Iske saath hi, Virpur se Sheopur ke beech 70 kilometer stretch pe kaam shuru ho chuka hai, jisme tracks, bridges, and eight stations banaye jaa rahe hain. Sabalgarh station already complete ho chuka hai aur ye old narrow gauge station se 1.5 kilometer door, Sewaram Bagh ke taraf banaya gaya hai.
