The station's interior will be beautified and developed incorporating local art and cultural elements. The project also includes a high-level platform and improved access roads. Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the redevelopment of 554 railway stations, including Morena, along with the laying of foundation stones for 1500 ROB and RUB projects. The Assembly Speaker announced that the Samata Express train will now stop at Morena station starting this week, fulfilling a long-standing demand from the people of Morena. He also said that the railway facilities in Morena will be upgraded at a cost exceeding ₹20 crore. The train service between Gwalior and Kailaras will be operational by next month, and the goal is to extend the Gwalior railway line to Sheopur this year.
