Central Railway Electrification Corporation's (CORE) headquarters in Prayagraj. The unit has electrified 1,306 TKMs (713 RKMs) of track in Karnataka, exceeding its target of 698 RKMs/1318 TKMs for the year 2022-23. In the financial year 2023-24 (till December), the unit has electrified 217 RKMs out of a target of 279 RKMs. The Railway Ministry has announced that 60,814 km of broad gauge (BG) track has been electrified across India by November 2023. 14 states and union territories have achieved 100% electrification of railway tracks, including Chandigarh, Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Meghalaya, Odisha, Puducherry, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
