period 2024-25. A separate allocation of ₹172 crore has been made for a coaching terminal and a second gate at the Jammu Railway Station. The USBRL project is a prestigious railway project aimed at connecting Srinagar to the railway network. Currently, 80% of the work on the project has been completed. A section of the line between Banihal and Khari has already been trial-run, and the overhead line is expected to be completed by February 5th, after which the line will be operational up to Khari. The world's highest rail bridge, located at Anji in Reasi, is also part of the USBRL project. The project also includes several tunnels currently under construction in Reasi and Ramban. The line is expected to be inaugurated before the Lok Sabha elections, allowing for easier access to Srinagar from Jammu. Vande Bharat trains are being considered for operation on the line once it is fully operational.

USBRL project ek prestigious project hai jiska maqsad Srinagar ko railway network se jodna hai. Is project ka 80% kaam pura ho chuka hai. Banihal aur Khari ke beech ka section trial-run ho chuka hai, aur overhead line February 5th tak complete hone ki ummid hai. Uske baad Khari tak line operational ho jayegi. Reasi ke Anji pe world ka sabse uncha rail bridge, USBRL project ka ek hissa hai. Is project me kuchh tunnels bhi hain jo Reasi aur Ramban me ban rahe hain. Is line ko Lok Sabha elections se pehle inaugurate kiya jaa sakta hai, jisse Jammu se Srinagar tak jana aasan ho jayega. Vande Bharat trains ko line pe chalane ka plan hai jab yeh fully operational ho jayegi.
