The crossing experiences closures 42-45 times daily, impacting a population of around 5 lakh residents. The government approved the overbridge project with a budget of 60.95 crore rupees on July 8, 2023. However, construction was halted due to disagreements over land compensation. The protests on Sunday were led by local residents like Pankaj Rana, KD Singh, RP Singh, PP Singh, Rakesh Shankardhar, OP Rai, Pt. Dinanath, and Ranjit Rai.
