up line. The collision caused the door of the goods train to break and fall onto the railway tracks, damaging the FOB pillar. The impact also made a loud noise, causing fear among railway staff and passengers. Fortunately, the FOB did not collapse, preventing a major accident. However, if a passenger train had been at the spot instead of the goods train, there could have been casualties. As a result of the accident, train movement on the up and down main lines at Sonua station was halted. Trains, including the South Bihar Express, the Ispat Express (from Howrah to Titlagarh), and the Ispat Express (from Titlagarh to Howrah), were held at various stations. After inspection of the damaged FOB, train movement resumed on the up and down loop lines at Sonua station at a slow pace.
