1983 ka time table dekha , Delhi to kanpur Neelanchal timing was 5.30 hrs
Check the original timings for Lucknow Shatabdi sometime. It was 6h 15 mins, I think and it had to undergo a Loco change from electric to diesel at CNB. Now it is 30 mins slower despite no loco change.
No it was WDM-2 all the way to Lucknow. After Vajpayee became MP the route from Kanpur to Lucknow was electrified along with the ring railway was introduced which had Memu running.
