Local residents rushed Satish to the BARECA Central Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. Satish was the youngest of five brothers and four sisters. Following the incident, Satish's elder brothers Ravi, Tedhu, Dinesh, Rakesh and his mother Durga Devi were inconsolable. The BARECA outpost in-charge of Manduadih police station, Satyam Tiwari, calmed the family members and took possession of the body. It was sent for a post-mortem.
