4,500 metro tickets sold via newly installed QR ticket machines

Bengaluru's Namma Metro Purple Line has introduced QR ticket machines at MG Road and Cubbon Park stations. These machines allow passengers to print QR tickets for their chosen entry and exit points using UPI payments. Since the pilot project began on April 4, approximately 4,500 tickets have been sold across 14...

machines. The initiative aims to reduce overcrowding during peak hours, particularly during the IPL season. While the machines have seen success, they remain largely unused during less busy periods. Commuters prefer using their metro cards or mobile QR tickets for convenience. To use the machines, passengers select their preferred language, choose source and destination stations, select the number of passengers, scan the QR code for payment, and receive the printed QR ticket.

ke pehle hi 4,500 tickets bik chuke hain. Is project ke under 14 machines lagaye gaye hain, jisme se MG Road station pe 6 aur Cubbon Park station pe 8 hain. Yeh system peak hours mein bheed kam karne ke liye laya gaya hai, khass kar IPL season mein jab bahut saare fans M Chinnaswamy Stadium mein Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) team ke match dekhne jaate hain. BMRCL ke ek official ne DH ko bataya ki is facility se ticket counters pe lambi lines lagne ki problem kam hui hai, khass kar peak hours mein. Unhone kaha, "Yeh sirf ek pilot project hai. Sirf do-teen hafte mein 4,500 tickets bik chuke hain. Agar ye trend aage bhi chalata rahega toh hum is facility ko dusre stations pe bhi lagayenge, logon ki number ke hisab se." Lekin, weekends aur weekday afternoons mein, jab bheed kam hoti hai, toh yeh machines idle rehte hain. DH se baat karte hue commuters ne bataya ki woh apne metro cards ya mobile QR tickets ka use karna pasand karte hain, unhe yeh machines se tickets lene se zyada convenient lagta hai.
