The new double line will significantly increase the number of trains passing through the local railway station, connecting Khazipet-Vijayawada and Secunderabad-Guntur rail routes. It is expected to benefit over 90 mandals in both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The project is particularly important due to the construction of the Yadadri Thermal Power Plant, which will require the transportation of 12.29 million tonnes of coal annually, requiring 14 goods trains daily. The local residents are also requesting the reopening of the Damaracherla railway station, which was closed in 1994 due to low passenger numbers. They argue that reopening the station would facilitate the movement of workers employed in various industries, including the Yadadri Thermal Plant.
