reduce the travel time between these two cities from 20-22 hours to just 12 hours. The project includes two routes: one via the North Central Railway (NCR) and the other via Delhi-Mumbai. To ensure safety at higher speeds, walls and crash barriers are being constructed along the tracks. The project also includes the installation of automatic signaling systems and the replacement of older tracks with new ones. The improved route will not only facilitate high-speed trains but will also accommodate increased train frequency and the introduction of Sleeper Vande Bharat trains. To optimize the route, most freight trains will be shifted to Dedicated Freight Corridors (DFC).
