Lalchand Mahto condemned the Railways' negligence, while Ravi Singh confirmed the absence of any railway assistance or even an ambulance, further highlighting the lack of information provided to the RPF about the incident. Amar Kumar Thakur was traveling with his pregnant wife Ruby from Surat. They deboarded at Chandrapura from the Malda Express and then took the Barkakana passenger train to Gomoh. While climbing the stairs on platform number 3, Ruby slipped and fell, leading to the delivery.
