Earlier, a survey was done to build a maintenance center in the yard line for running the Tatanagar-Howrah Vande Bharat train, but the maintenance center was built at Santragachi and Hatia in the zone, as both centers take care of many routes. Now, a maintenance center will be built for the Tatanagar-Varanasi Vande Bharat train. The railway zone will also shift the washing line of Tatanagar station to Kudada due to space constraints in the station re-development. An official said that the order is to start the maintenance center and washing center in Kudada soon. This will create a loop line between Tatanagar and Haldipur, so that it is convenient to move the empty racks of trains up and down from the maintenance and washing centers. It is known that the Chakradharpur division has received an order from the Railway Board to make Tatanagar station like an airport. The old sick line of Tatanagar behind the Regional Railway Manager's office is also being upgraded to facilitate other passenger trains till the new maintenance and washing center is built. It is said that under the Tatanagar station re-development, preparations are underway to remove the old engine model from the gate near the portico along with the guard-crew lobby, parcel office and warehouse from platform number one. The agency is currently preparing the DPR, but the Chakradharpur division is responsible for providing the land for the new construction.
