New railway lines are also being planned between Karnal and Yamunanagar (61 km) and Farukhnagar and Jhajjar (30 km), with detailed project reports (DPRs) currently being developed. The Ministry of Railways will finalize the budget for these projects after DPR completion. Meanwhile, construction of an elevated rail track in Kurukshetra is underway at a cost of ₹265.18 crores. The government has also begun work on the Orbital Rail Corridor, a 5566-crore project connecting Prithla in Palwal to Sonipat along the Kundli-Manesar-Palwal Expressway, aiming to boost industrial growth. Haryana is also fast-tracking the construction of new railway overbridges and underbridges. In terms of air travel, the state has established the Haryana Airports Development Corporation Limited to oversee the development of civil aviation projects. The first airport, named after Maharaja Agrasen in Hisar, is scheduled to become operational in April, offering flights to various destinations. The government is also installing 10,000 high-mast lights in villages, with 7169 already being installed in the current fiscal year. By 2024-25, the goal is to have 10,000 high-mast lights in villages. The state government has expanded its bus fleet to 5300 buses, with city bus services launched in Gurugram, Faridabad, and Manesar. Electric AC bus services are planned for nine cities – Panipat, Panchkula, Ambala, Yamunanagar, Karnal, Sonipat, Rohtak, Hisar, and Rewari, with Panipat and Yamunanagar already operational. The remaining cities will have these buses by June.
