Due to the ongoing farmers' protest near Shambhū railway station, which started on April 17th, the Ambala-Ludhiana railway section has been heavily affected. 101 trains were diverted, and 8 trains were cancelled mid-route and restarted. To manage the disruption, the railways have implemented a three-day cancellation policy for trains, and long-distance trains are being diverted through either the Dhūri-Jākhāl or Chandigarh-Sāhnevāl routes. The Dhūri-Jākhāl route leads to significant delays, and the 50km Chandigarh-Sāhnevāl section also experiences delays of 3-4 hours. This impacts passengers who booked tickets two months in advance. The railway department is working to minimize delays and has assigned officials to prioritize the movement of trains on the single track. The Chandigarh rail section, being a double track, continues to operate normally, allowing Vande Bharat, Shatabdi, and other trains from Kalka and Chandigarh to run on time. However, there are concerns that the farmers may blockade the Chandigarh rail section, although confirmation is pending.

gayi, 101 trains ko divert kiya gaya, aur 8 trains ko beech mein cancel karke firse chalaya gaya. Is disruption ko handle karne ke liye, railways ne three-day cancellation policy lagai hai aur long-distance trains ko Dhūri-Jākhāl ya Chandigarh-Sāhnevāl routes se divert kiya ja raha hai. Dhūri-Jākhāl route se bohot delay ho raha hai, aur 50km Chandigarh-Sāhnevāl section mein bhi 3-4 hours ka delay hai. Isse un passengers ko pareshani ho rahi hai jinhonne two months pehle tickets book kar liye the. Railway department delays ko kam karne ke liye kaam kar raha hai aur officials ko single track par trains ko jaldi chalane ki jimmedari di gayi hai. Chandigarh rail section, double track hone ke wajah se, normal chal raha hai, jisse Kalka aur Chandigarh se chalne wali Vande Bharat, Shatabdi, aur aur trains samay par chal rahi hai. Par, concern hai ki farmers Chandigarh rail section ko bhi block kar sakte hain, halanki confirmation abhi tak nahi hai.
