May be its a hard guess... I rmember my child hood days when my grand father used to take me to this river on every weekend on his bicycle. We used to cycle about 2 hrs to reach this 20 kms distant river from our home. There used to be small knee deep streams in my child hood and I used to jump from the 6/7 feet stones which are a regular find in ATP no matter if it is a river. The river PENNAR or PENNA or PENNERU or PINAKINI now lies completely dry in ATP dist. Situation is so become that finding water is strange but finding sand itself in the river is very rare. The last time I saw a flood was about 20 years back and good flowdown about 15 years back and some water about 10 years back. This is site between PMD & KLU...
more... after the Junction of GTL-KLU line and GY-KLU line happen just before the river. After the river we get to halt at the KLU station about 1 km from the river bank.
PENNAR empties into Bay of Bengal about 15 kms east of NLR.
