A new class of members called "Forum Monitor" has been introduced. These members will have free rein to Delete Posts, Suspend Members and Archive Blogs. The defining characteristics of these members is:
1. They are a subset of the Admin group.
2. They are NOT active bloggers, and so not emotionally involved.
3. They are NOT well-known Admins who can easily be defamed/insulted by...
more... name in IRI or in other sites.
4. They have never been involved in any well-known incidents/controversies in the past - favourable or otherwise. Their "political views", "inclinations" are unknown.
5. When any of these Forum Monitors start acquiring a reputation or a distinctive blogging personality, they will be relieved of their responsibility, to protect them from being targeted by members.
6. Forum Monitors have a "*^" against their name.
.
Some effects of this scheme:
1. When any member finds his/her post deleted or finds that they are suspended, regular ** Admins have NOT performed this action. So you may NO LONGER accuse them of unfair action or spin conspiracy theories against our Admins.
2. Disruptive Members will continue to get their posts deleted or get suspended. You may no longer say,
"Admin A disagrees with me, and so routinely deletes my posts".
Answer:
"Admin A did NOT delete your post because he CANNOT delete your posts. Your posts were deleted for a VALID reason by some Forum Monitor who is not even an active well-known blogger. So there is no question of disagreement.
3. You may NO LONGER accuse Admins of blogging with impunity and immunity, whereas "poor members" are being mistreated. If your posts are being deleted and Admins' posts are not being deleted, it is NOT because Admins enjoy immunity. It is because YOU are stirring trouble in the forum.
.
The above scheme is designed to:
1. Protect our regular Admins from being unfairly attacked by others.
2. Protect members from Admins who may indeed have some natural human biases that creep in over a course of time.
.
If you find any of your posts deleted, you will have to accept it as such, or it may indeed be a genuine mistake. But one thing is for sure. Your post was NOT wilfully and deliberately deleted by some well-known Admin, to satisfy some hidden agenda. Any member who creates disruption, wilfully mentions Admins by name and makes crude comments about them, will see themselves suspended/banned.
.
Thanks.
