I believe this Vande Bharat can be regarded as the undisputable 'king' of Indian Railways (though I personally dislike this term. Every train, whether itтАЩs a MEMU, Passenger, or Intercity is king as they play a crucial role in serving thousands of passengers and stations. For some groups, a specific MEMU might be more important than even a Rajdhani. ItтАЩs unfortunate that the term 'king' has gained such popularity within the railway community, but I have yet to find a more fitting alternative word to king, so IтАЩll use it for now.)

say this because:

- This was the first Vande Bharat train.

- It has consistently maintained the highest average speed in Indian Railways, despite other trains, like those on the NZM-AGC sector, reaching speeds of 160 kmph.

- It frequently overtakes several other trains, including other Vande Bharat services like the Ayodhya Vande Bharat.

- This particular Vande Bharat is set to become the first to be replaced by a 20-coach rake.

- No new halts have been added to this train ever since it got inaugurated.

Last month when I visited Prayagraj, the bridge was completed to a large extent and perhaps after the flood waters recede they'll pace it up. Work on the new diverted section before the bridge is also catching up.

It's been almost a year since NER is giving press releases about the route being ready for 160kmph. While I doubt that, I'm sure they'll commission the new bridge and 130kmph before the Mahakumbh.

And given the fact that NCR and ECR are moving swiftly with the 160kmph upgradations. That may also happen before the Mahakumbh along with the ADI-MMCT flag off. Plus the BSB VB twins have quite a relaxed run throughout.

So yeah, there are chances of major overhaul in the TT of 22435/36 if not both the services. I won't be surprised if the average touches the 100kmph mark after all the track upgradations. After all it's the first and seemingly favorite VB of IR.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
