A surprise visit from Shri Satish Kumar, current member of Railway Board and future Chairman of Railway Board to Prayag Jn and Phaphamau Jn exposes the incompetence of NR Lucknow division. They are severely lacking behind in completing railway projects related to Mahakumbh which is about to be held in 150 days and moreover have destroyed the minimum facilities they provide to the passengers of these two stations.

expressed her frustration over the work of NR Lko and yet after so many high level officers scolding DRM NR he isn't able to improve things here.

One example of NR incompetence is that they blocked Annie Besant road for making an underpass in Nov,2023 and claimed it will be completed by Feb 28, 2024 and after 6 months delay they're yet to achieve 70% target, funny thing is NER managed to build 2 underpasses Jhunsi side in about 6 months and they are also not known for speedy work.

It's high time NR Lko transfers every station in Prayagraj district to NCR and honestly maybe the whole division should be transferred to NCR or NER.

Just another frustrated rant about NR Lko's work culture.

How is the existing infrastructure at these 2 stations? Not too long ago, it used to be on semaphore signalling, I think [when PYGS wasn't built and Prayag Ghat existed in it's place]. Also, a long time ago, but there was a bridge collapse in Allahabad railway premises during a major festival, right?

Absolutely, I guess he understands NR LKO work culture that's why only visited stations under LKO div. and was very strict with DRM. Although he wasn't good as LKO DRM himself but he definitely did a lot of work for Prayag and Prayag Ghat station during 2019 Kumbh.

Absolutely NR is providing facilities which should have been provided a decade ago to important cities like Lucknow and Varanasi and we are celebrating about it LoL. For being division HQ LKO station apart from outside aesthetic is pretty shitty and that sums up

I totally agree, NR is focused on expanding railways to J&K, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand, let them handle that and transfer Moradabad and Lucknow division to NCR/NER

Due to redevelopment pretty bad now, were in working condition before the redevelopment, not good but you can manage things.

NR is so riddled with politics and the typical 'government office' work culture, they can't untangle themselves out of that mess.

Even after the 'facilities', the stations look like they need an overhaul. I've seen DDU completely change since the time I've been traveling in trains. And BSB is more or less the same. Even the outer 'aesthetics' are from past, the only thing they've done is to put colorful lights on the building.

NR has grown beyond the size where it can be managed efficiently. Not that any other zone of IR is doing any better, but NR being in charge of the major stations of Northern India should do a much better job than it's currently doing.
