Delay by Karnataka government in handing over Binny Mills land to SWR is holding up revamp of KSR station in Bengaluru

The planned overhaul and expansion of KSR Bengaluru City Railway Station, aiming to provide airport-like facilities at a cost of ₹1,000 crore, is facing delays due to a dispute between the South Western Railway (SWR) and the Karnataka government over the acquisition of Binny Mills land. This land is crucial for...

the project, and the dispute stems from a previous land swap agreement where SWR handed over land for the Okalipuram signal-free corridor in exchange for Binny Mills land. SWR claims the value of the land it gave is higher than the Binny Mills land and has refused to give additional land or compensation. The case is now in the Supreme Court. Railway activist Krishna Prasad K.N. urges both parties to find a solution, expressing concerns about potential commercial development on the site, which could further worsen crowding at the station. SWR clarifies that they are not involved in the Supreme Court case regarding compensation for the Binny Mills land, stating they only received a smaller parcel for railway purposes after giving up land for the Okalipuram signal-free corridor.

Bengaluru ke KSR City Railway Station ka revamp, jisme airport-like facilities dene ka lakshya hai aur jiska kharcha ₹1,000 crore aane wala hai, ek land dispute ki wajah se delay ho raha hai. yeh dispute South Western Railway (SWR) aur Karnataka government ke beech Binny Mills ki land ke acquisition ko...

lekar hai. yeh land project ke liye bahut jaroori hai aur yeh dispute pehle ki land swap agreement se uthaa hai, jisme SWR ne Okalipuram signal-free corridor ke liye land diya tha, badle mein Binny Mills ki land lene ke liye. SWR ka kehna hai ki unhone jo land diya hai uska value Binny Mills ki land se zyada hai aur unhone extra land ya compensation dene se mana kar diya hai. Ab yeh case Supreme Court mein hai. Railway activist Krishna Prasad K.N. dono parties se yeh maang kar rahe hain ki yeh dispute solve karein, woh station pe commercial development ke baare mein bhi concern express kar rahe hain, jisse station pe aur zyada crowding ho sakti hai. SWR ne yeh clarify kiya hai ki woh Binny Mills land ke compensation ke liye Supreme Court mein hone wala case mein involve nahi hai, unhone yeh bataya ki unhone Okalipuram signal-free corridor ke liye land dene ke badle me sirf chhoti si land railway purposes ke liye li hai.

These days, every other day, we are getting requests from members to allow email login to their FB-based IRI account. 10 years ago, we had given the option for users to login through FaceBook - in retrospect, this was a mistake. These days, apparently, users are quitting FaceBook in droves because...
