i) They raised taxes on capital gains - both LTCG & STCG. So now, should the common man not invest in the share market? Is that what the gov wants?
ii) In the new regime, there are no deductions under 80c. So, when taxpayers switch to the new regime, the savings they used to have under 80c will be impacted. This isn't a good sign.
The gov should promote savings, but it seems like they're doing the opposite here.

Yeah, this is it. The new tax system sucks big time for saving money. It just increases expenses. They left out 80C which provides medical insurance and 80D which covers other savings like buying a first house or a vehicle. On top of that, they increased taxes on mutual funds even though sometimes they result in losses. Taxes have only slightly increased but it will definitely cause harm, especially to the educated, intelligent, and hardworking class.
