BMRCL puts up safety barriers on Tumakuru Main Road to avert pedestrian accidents

The Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has installed a 500-meter long, 7-meter high steel barricade on the median of Tumakuru Road near Yesvantpur to prevent accidents involving Metro commuters and pedestrians crossing the road. This initiative, implemented earlier this year at the request of the traffic police, has successfully prevented...

accidents in the past five months. However, traffic police have requested BMRCL to extend the barricade by 1.5 km to further improve safety on this stretch, which sees a high volume of speeding vehicles. The police have cited a string of accidents in recent years, including three deaths and four injuries in 2023. While BMRCL has not yet taken a decision on extending the barricade, they acknowledge the effectiveness of the current barrier and are awaiting a positive response.

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) ne Tumakuru Road pe Yesvantpur se Sandal Soap Factory tak median pe ek 500 meter lamba aur 7 meter uncha steel barricade lagaaya hai, jisse Metro commuters aur pedestrians ko road cross karte waqt accidents se bachaaya ja sake. Yeh initiative traffic police ke request...

pe is saal ki shuruaat mein kiya gaya tha aur isne pichhle paanch mahino mein accidents ko rokne mein kaamyaabi hasil ki hai. Lekin, traffic police ne BMRCL se request ki hai ki wo is barricade ko 1.5 km tak extend karein taaki is stretch pe safety aur behtar ho jaaye, jahan bahut zyada speeding vehicles chalte hain. Police ne pichhle kuchh saalon mein hue accidents ka havala diya hai, jisme 2023 mein teen maut aur chaar injuries hui thi. BMRCL ne abhi tak is barricade ko extend karne pe koi faisla nahi liya hai, lekin wo yeh maan rahe hain ki existing barrier kaafi effective hai aur wo traffic police ke positive response ka intezaar kar rahe hain.
