Poonamallee Bypass, part of the larger 116.1 km Chennai Metro Phase 2. The decision to extend Line 4 to Parandur Airport follows a feasibility study in April 2023, and the state government's approval to extend the line to the new airport. The DPR will outline various aspects of the extension, including its length, route details (underground, elevated, and at-grade sections), station locations, depot specifications, coach requirements, ridership projections, operational strategies, cost estimation, and other relevant factors. Chennai Metro Phase 2 was approved in 2019 and includes three new lines totaling 116.1 km. Its completion is expected in stages starting from 2026, with the entire network reaching approximately 173 km by 2030.

aur 116.1 km ke Chennai Metro Phase 2 ka part hai. April 2023 mein, Chennai Metro Rail Ltd. (CMRL) ne is line ko Sriperumbudur tak extend karne ki feasibility study karwayi thi. Ussi saal, state government ne line ko Chennai ke new greenfield airport, Parandur, tak extend karne ka faisla kiya. Approval ke baad, CMRL ne February 2024 mein DPR consultant appoint karne ke liye bids maange the, aur 180 din ka deadline set kiya tha, bina estimated cost disclose kiye. April 2024 mein jab technical bids open kiye gaye, to panch bidders aaye the. Lekin, AECOM India – URS Scott Wilson India JV ki bid disqualify kar di gayi, tender conditions follow na karne ki wajah se. DPR mein line ke key aspects outline kiye jayenge, jaise ki length, route composition (underground, elevated, aur at-grade sections), station locations, depot specifications, coach requirements, ridership projections, operational strategies, total cost estimation, aur other relevant factors. Chennai Metro Phase 2 ko 2019 mein Tamil Nadu government ne approve kiya tha. Isme 116.1 km lambi teen new lines hain. December 2018 mein, RITES ne Phase 2 ke liye Detailed Project Report (DPR) finalize kiya tha. Chennai Metro Phase 2 ka completion 2026 se shuru hoke stages mein hone wala hai. Phase 2 ke complete hone par, around 2030 (estimated), Chennai ka metro network approximately 173 km lamba ho jayega.
