the Forest Department and Railways, aims to reduce elephant fatalities by monitoring a 32 km stretch leading to the Kottekad crossing. The project, costing Rs 15.42 crore, has faced financial hurdles, but the Southern Railway General Manager intervened to facilitate its implementation. The Gajraj System, already successful in Assam, is planned for deployment across 700 km of forest routes in India.
