Case made for crossing track, additional platform at Periyanaickenpalayam railway station in Coimbatore

The Periyanaickenpalayam Train Passengers’ Welfare Association has requested the Southern Railway to upgrade the Periyanaickenpalayam railway station to a crossing station, citing the high volume of commuters, particularly students. They also requested the Mettupalayam-Tirunelveli Weekly Special Train (No. 06029) to stop at the station, and for the Pollachi-Coimbatore-Pollachi passenger trains (No. 06420 and 06419) to be extended to Mettupalayam. J. Sathish, Director, Kongu Global Forum, supports the association's request, emphasizing the station's historical significance and the need for enhanced track utilization. He highlighted the station's location between Coimbatore and Mettupalayam, and the need for an additional platform to cater to the growing number of commuters.

Unhone yeh bhi request ki hai ki Mettupalayam-Tirunelveli Weekly Special Train (No. 06029) station pe rukta ho, aur Pollachi-Coimbatore-Pollachi passenger trains (No. 06420 and 06419) Mettupalayam tak extend ho.
