the Nagar Nigam's project as the reason for halting the work. The residents refuted the complaint, arguing that the land was allotted by the railway for the colony's use. They highlighted that the drainage work aimed to address the problem of sewage flowing from the railway premises into the colony, posing health risks. The residents submitted a memorandum demanding a resolution to the issue and warned of further protests if the railway didn't address the problem within a week. The memorandum was signed by former councilor Pandi Mukhi, former city president of the Congress Santosh Singh, senior Congress leader Khirode Sardar, and other residents.
