While alternative destinations like Tirunavaya, Tirur, and Tanur were considered, Kuttipuram remained the most suitable. The termination of the line at Guruvayur has deprived Malabar of a much-needed alternative route, and the possibility of its completion now seems bleak. The foundation stone for the Guruvayur-Kuttipuram line was laid on December 17, 1995, but the project never materialized.

Guruvayur pe line ko terminate karne se Malabar ko ek bahut jaroori alternative route se vंचित kar diya gaya, aur ab iske complete hone ki sambhavna kam lagti hai. 17 December 1995 ko Guruvayur-Kuttipuram line ke liye foundation stone rakha gaya tha, but yeh project kabhi complete nahi ho paya.
