was previously used for freight transportation, with the first freight train running in September 2020. Before the passenger service launch, the railway track underwent rigorous safety testing, including a trial run and inspection by the Railway Safety Commission. This project is part of a larger initiative by the Prime Minister to launch projects worth Rs 19,000 crore in Odisha. The new train service is expected to facilitate easier travel, improve access to markets, and create new employment opportunities, ultimately contributing to regional development and economic growth.
