Two trackmen, Mohan Kumar Sharma (35) and Rahul Kumar (27), were killed early Saturday morning when they were hit by the Islampore-Hatia Express train on the Gomoh-Chandrapura railway line in Dhanbad railway division. The two were patrolling the track and were sitting on the tracks at the time of the accident. Both employees died on the spot. Initial investigations suggest that they were sitting on the track when the accident happened. Mohan Kumar Sharma hailed from Patgachhia village, Patori Western Panchayat in Saharsa district of Bihar, while Rahul Kumar belonged to Barhia village in Kurtha police station area of Arwal district. Mohan joined the railway in 2018, while Rahul joined in 2021. Both were married. A team of railway officials has been constituted to investigate the incident. The DRM has expressed grief over the incident and said that a detailed investigation into the causes of the accident is underway.
