Bengaluru Metro Expansion: Phase 3 Corridors Set To Recieve Green Light From Union Government, Here's All About It

Two corridors of Bengaluru Metro's Phase 3, running from JP Nagar 4th Phase to Kempapura and Hosahalli to Kadabagere, are nearing final approval from the Union government. The approval is expected before the Lok Sabha election model code of conduct comes into effect in March 2024. The expansion is anticipated to...

boost public transport and real estate development in Bengaluru's outskirts. However, some experts advocate for extending the ORR West corridor to Central Silk Board for better connectivity. The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs has mandated the use of three-coach trains instead of the initially planned six-coach trains. The 65th Network Planning Group meeting also discussed the Bengaluru Metro Phase 3 and the Delhi Metro's Rithala-Bawana-Narela-Kundli corridor, highlighting their contribution to nation-building through multimodal integration and socio-economic benefits. Meanwhile, the detailed project report for the 37-kilometer Sarjapur-Hebbal corridor is being reviewed for approval. In addition, the Karnataka Governor confirmed that Phase 2A (Central Silk Board to Krishnarajapura) and Phase 2B (Krishnarajapura to Kempegowda International Airport) are scheduled for completion by June 2026, while the 19.15 km Yellow Line (RV Road - Bommasandra) is expected to be operational by July 2024.

Bengaluru Metro ke Phase 3 ke do corridors, JP Nagar 4th Phase se Kempapura aur Hosahalli se Kadabagere tak, ab Union government se final approval ke kareeb hain. March 2024 mein Lok Sabha election ke model code of conduct laagu hone se pehle yeh approval aane ki ummeed hai. ...

Is expansion se Bengaluru ke outskirts mein public transport aur real estate development ko boost milne ki ummeed hai. Lekin kuchh experts ka kehna hai ki ORR West corridor ko Central Silk Board tak extend kiya jaana chahiye, jisse connectivity behtar ho sake. Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs ne initially planned six-coach trains ki jagah three-coach trains chalane ka hukum diya hai. 65th Network Planning Group meeting mein Bengaluru Metro Phase 3 aur Delhi Metro ke Rithala-Bawana-Narela-Kundli corridor ki bhi baat hui, jismein unka nation-building mein contribution ko highlight kiya gaya, jismein multimodal integration aur socio-economic benefits shamil hain. Iske alawa, 37-kilometer Sarjapur-Hebbal corridor ke detailed project report ki review ho rahi hai aur approval ke liye state government ko bheja jaayega. Iske alawa, Karnataka ke Governor ne confirm kiya hai ki Phase 2A (Central Silk Board se Krishnarajapura) aur Phase 2B (Krishnarajapura se Kempegowda International Airport) June 2026 tak complete ho jaayenge, aur 19.15 km Yellow Line (RV Road - Bommasandra) July 2024 tak operational ho jaayegi.
