The CRRC was awarded a ₹1,578 crore contract in 2019 to deliver 216 metro coaches but faced issues due to not establishing a manufacturing plant in India. The BMRCL will require at least three months for trial runs and approvals after receiving the prototype train. The model code of conduct for the general elections in April-May is also expected to delay the launch, pushing it to July. The BMRCL had considered encashing CRRC's ₹372 crore bank guarantee due to the delay but the Chinese company has now partnered with Kolkata-based Titagarh Wagons to supply the remaining coaches. The 19 km elevated Yellow Line, from R.V. Road to Bommasandra, will connect Electronics City and is anticipated to serve lakhs of commuters, reducing traffic on the stretch. It will benefit people working in the Bommasandra industrial area, HSR Layout, Electronics City, and Beratena Agrahara.
