The bullet train project on the Delhi-Amritsar rail route is expected to travel at a speed of 350 km/h. The project will affect 24 villages across 66.43 hectares in the Kurukshetra district of Haryana. The proposed line will have 10 stations, including Delhi, Sonepat, Panipat, Karnal, Ambala, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Jalandhar, Beas, and Amritsar. The operating speed of the train is expected to be 320 km/h, with an average speed of 250 km/h. The project will cover three states: Delhi, Haryana, and Punjab. The project team has taken into account potential environmental concerns and will implement a comprehensive environmental management plan during construction. This plan will be incorporated into the tender documents for contractors to ensure its implementation. The project will involve compensatory afforestation to offset tree felling in accordance with the state's forest policies.
