Good news.Aurangabad-Ahmednagar new railway line looks a real reality now.

Actually when Kamlapathi Tripathi was the Railway Minister in the mid 70's there was a beautiful plan.That time the Railways had decided to extend the Daund Chitali line to Shirdi and then join it to Kanhegaon back to the Daund Manmad line.This way all trains plying on the DD MMR route would touch Shirdi.There was no need to make Puntamba a Junction. However, a politician from Maharashtra was hell bent on making Puntamba a Junction and here we aretoday seeing a spur line from Puntamba to Shirdi.
It was Kopargaon Nashik via Shirdi and Kopargaon Shirdi 16.6 RKM was it's First Phase with Future Extension to Nashik via Sinnar to join Mumbai Howrah Main Line and to Sangamner on Pune Nashik Railway reducing distance from Pune to Delhi by 70 KM. Also the mentioned Politician ensured that Kopargaon Station looses it's relevance and see today no one talks about halt to premium Duronto and Humsafar train's at Kopargaon for Sai Devotees despite being Commercial Viable .... Railway Babu's only care for SNSI completely ignoring Kopargaon despite Kopargaon Being Main Line Station for Sai Devotees from Centuries .... The said politician also moved the Proposed Shirdi Railway Station behind 500 Rooms to Current Pimpalwadi Location leading to Additional 500 m Turn and Increase in project Cost for no reason ... There is a saying in पुण्यावरून पुणतांबा and they Actually made it Increasing the Distance of Shirdi to Kopargaon...
