Thanks...
more... to the revised time table of Western Railway effective July 1, 2012, the 12954 AK Rajdhani which until now used to trail the Queen of the West Coast , the 12922 Flying Ranee Superfast till Mumbai Central will overtake the latter at Palghar.
On Monday, July 02, 2012 - I had assumed that this overtake would happen at my hometown, Palghar and rushed to the railway station just in time to witness this spectacle happening for the first time ever in my memory.
The loco links for both the Trains were as follows:
Flying Ranee: WCAM 1 21827 (BL)
AK Rajdhani: WAP 5 30020 (GZB)
Revised arrival timings for the AK Rajdhani at Mumbai Central is 9:55 AM. The timing for the Flying Ranee remains the same - 10:10.
Anyway, now that the roles are reversed, the Flying Ranee will be right behind the deputy king and will ensure that the deputy king maintains its schedule or run the risk of being overtaken - owing to the fact that the Ranee is a high priority commuter train!
What I will miss though are the occasional parallel runs these two trains used to have after Borivali. Sigh!
Enjoy the video!
