Presenting some pictures from my recent trip to Dakhineswar!
Dakhineswar is an relatively important railway station lying on the DumDum-Dankuni stretch of the Calcutta Chord line. A few express trains do halt at Dakhineswar and the station enjoys a good patronage owing to the world renowned Dakhineswar Kali Mandir, which is just a 'stone-throw' away from the railway station....
Reaching the Temple from the station premises have been made much more easier due to the newly constructed Skywalk by the government...

more... is also set to become the new terminus of the Line 1 of the Kolkata Metro replacing Neopara in the process...

Pictures 9-15 :- Shows the majestic 'Willington Bridge/Vivekananda Setu' under various stormy skyscapes. I don't think it would be visible in the pic but a train was also been simultaneously crossing the bridge as I snapped this series of pictures.
