Chakki is the name of tributary river of Beas, which is snow-fed and rain fed stream from Southern slopes of the Dhauladhar range. This river enters Punjab near Pathankot and ultimately joins the Beas river downstream. The station is situated on its bank. Chakki Bank is situated on outskirts of Pathankot, being an Army base, though a part of Pathankot. All SF trains transit thro CHKB (Malwa, Swaraj etc. ), instead of entering Pathankot, as entering PTK involves rake reversal...And it is relevant that it should be designated the name of major city, which is known to tourists around to country and World, who wish to visit Kangra, Dharansala, and Mcleod Ganj, Chamba...
