* Except the highly patronised premium trains like Kalka/LKO/ASR/MUM etc shatabdies MuM/PNBE/Kolkata etc raj, the occupancy rate taken a serious beating.
* Had flexifare not introduced, a daily third Raj for Mumbai, third shatabdi on DLI-ASR would have become an absolute necessity and occupancy and frequency of non daily would have got increase, ones running with smaller coaches would have got augmented.
* Premium trains with average occupancy have become losers after flexifares were introduced.

more... IR is constantly losing a huge ac class market segment as the air traffic is annual increasing at break neck rate of about 20% p/a/ since last few years. UDAAN scheme is going to give more blows to IR in future.
