KeSRTC operates nearly , 24 daily buses b/w Bangalore and Kozhikode.
8 Daily services including 4 Scania and 1 B9R between Ernakulam and Bangalore.
17 daily including scania, B9R and Super deluxe from Thrissur.
5 daily from Kannur.
4...
more... daily, all scania from Thiruvananthapuram and bangalore( due to interstate permit issues taking longer routes).
9 between Palakkad and Bangalore.
Also understand that as per interstate permit policy with TN, if KL buses travel n number of kms in their state, TN buses should also travel the same no. of kms in KL state. But the fact is that TNSRTC never runs and doesn't have to run much through Kerala state. So its very very difficult to get IS permit. That is why some are taking longer route via kzk. Out of which only 2 have Night Forest Pass. Rest should either wait till 6am to pass the forest or taking more longer route via kutta.
Also KaSRTC too runs a lot of buses between Kerala and bangalore. Still all thse are insufficient.
"Whoever is agitating, please, ask your state government to fund and run buses." ...Agitating? If this train is announced in 2014 budget, we have every right to make it run. Now, regarding' fund and run buses ' KeSRTC has taken a lot of pvt. Scania on lease to run to various places. But due to these permit issues its impossible for them run.At present there are excess of luxury buses and even plan was there to take even more scania on lease, but later withdrawn as they could operate it to very less no. of destinations due to TN Permit issues.
