Ideally it should cost lesser than the same service with LHB coaches. Talgo has lesser maintenance costs and track maintenance costs are also lesser. Since the rakes are much lighter than LHB or ICF rakes, energy costs are also less ( Talgo is quoting almost 30% savings on energy). On all fronts, Talgo services will have lesser running costs than any other service for IR. Unless IR messes up the pricing, it should cost the same or reasonably more than existing services. Very high fares for Talgo would be day light robbery!
