Last week, 19th April, I went to receive my parents coming to Vizag by 18508 Hirakud express. The train was supposed to reach Vizag at 23:50. I reached the station at around 23:20. At around 23:30, my parents called me and told me that the train had stopped just 2 km outside the station (i.e. Kancharapalem). The VSKP - LTT express left at around 23:30. At this point, there were two trains in the station - 18646 on the first and 17481 on the third platform. The rest of the platforms were empty. I was expecting the train to come early. On the other hand, the train came at nearly 00:20.
From 23:30 to 00:20, there were no other trains...
more... coming into the station.
When 6 out of 8 platforms were vacant, why was this train stopped just a few km away outside the station for more than 30 min?
This seems to have been done deliberately on a regular basis.
From my enquiries, I found out that this is a common occurrence even for a few other trains terminating at VSKP.
I don't understand what the people of VSKP have done to be prejudiced against by the Railways.
