A Mesmerizing Journey along the Konkan Coast, what better way than Indian Railways to do it, Journey highlights from 12133 Mumbai-Mangalore SF traversing through Goa.
As a Part of a circular trip I had been on in June 2015 with my friends, I decided to close the trip with a journey through the majestic Konkan Railways. For this purpose we booked on the 12133 Mumbai CST Mangalore Jn. Superfast Express, fondly called 'Rocket' by one and all for its aggressive schedule and short Turn-around time at Mangalore. Its as less as 75mins during the non-monsoon schedule and 90mins during the monsoon schedule, putting it on par with TAT of Intercity Express trains. We boarded the Rocket on a Tuesday night, so...
more... that we get to see the KR king TVC Rajdhani and India's Longest Running Duronto, the ERS NZM Duronto as crossings.
Our loco was a WDM3D from Kalyan (KYN) shed; 11390. Our train departed from CST a few minutes late, but the Rocket managed to cover up lost time overnight. This video in particular covers the entire Journey through Goa state. With the exception of Pernem, the first station after crossing the Maharashtra-Goa border; all stations have been covered in the North-South line which forms a part of the Konkan Railways Network. At Thivim, we crossed the northbound Netravati express led by offlink KYN WDG4. Post this it was a merry run all the way till Madgaon Jn. A few hundred metres before Majorda Jn.; the line from Vasco joined us. At Suravali, the food king Mumbai CST bound Mandovi Express rushed past us led by a KJM WDP4.
After a customary 10min halt at Madgaon, we departed and crossed the stationary rake of Madgaon Dadar Janshatabdi express led by GOC WDP4D at a pitline outside MAO. The rake of the Chandigarh bound Goa Sampark Kranti Express can be seen in the coaching depot. After being looped at Balli for a freight crossing, Canacona& Loliem were smoothly crossed. Post this we crossed the Goa-Karnataka border and moved into the state Karnataka.
This compilation thus covers the entire run of 12133 Mangalore express through the state of Goa. Please do watch and share your feedback. Cheers. YT Link:
