Dehradun Shatabdi Slowly comes out of the Rajaji National Park as it enters the 116 Years Old Motichur Bridge constructed under the British Rule in 1898. Thanks to the governments initiatives , Wildlife has thrived in the Rajaji National Park since Train traffic has been restricted to 30Kmph. As this National Park has one of the largest population of Wild Asiatic Elephants and various other Species of Animals Including The Royal Bengal Tiger. Since Natural water sources are across the tracks at many places throughout the stretch between Raiwala and Dehradun so earlier many Wild animals were killed while crossing the tracks but now with the combined initiatives of the Forest Officials and Indian Railways...
more... a proper check is kept on the 20 km stretch that passes through the major parts where the water resources are and where maximum crossings of wild animals takes place in the National Park.This has been marked as a Special Caution Zone and extra care is taken at night with Forest Officials guarding the stretch when trains are passing so as to safeguard animals and caution the drivers(Loco Pilots) if animals are crossing . With the combined Efforts , Casualties have come down considerably.
