Electric Loco Reliability Meet in CLW
CHITTARANJAN, 28th April , 2015 : Electric Loco Reliability Meet was held at Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) on 27 & 28 April,2015 Chief Electrical Loco Engineers ( CELEs ) , Sr. Divisional Electrical Engineers ( Sr. DEEs ) of Zonal Railways , Sr. Officers from RDSO/ Lucknow and Railway Board / New Delhi participated in this meet to discuss reliability issues of the CLW built electric locomotives . Special focus was given to 3-phase locomotives provided with latest IGBT technology.
The meeting was formally chaired by Shri C.P. Tayal , General Manager, CLW and Shri Man Singh, Addl. Member ( Electrical ) Railway Board on 28th April,2015 in the Administrative office meeting room.
Shri Ved Pal , Advisor Electrical (RS) from Railway Board / New Delhi and Shri A K. Singhal, EDEM from RDSO/ Lucknow and Senior Electrical Officers from various Railways namely Eastern Railways, South East Central Railways, North Central Railways, West Central Railways, East Coast Railways, East Central Railways, Central Railways, Northern Railways, Western Railways, Southern Railways , South Eastern Railways and South Central Railways participated and actively discussed the reliability issues of 3-phase locomotives . The agenda for discussion includes emerging technology. Apart from Railway Officers, representatives from reputed manufacturers of IGBT technology attended this meet.
Shri Harindra Rao, Chief Electrical Engineer of CLW inaugurated the meet on 27th April 2015 and acknowledged the contribution of all the visiting Electrical Engineers towards improvement in the reliability of 3 phase electric locomotives manufactured by CLW . CLW also appraised Railways about the steps being taken to improve the reliability and provide latest features in CLW built locos. CLW took note of the areas of concern highlighted by all the participating Railways .
Shri C. P. Tayal, GM stressed upon to have more interaction with the Zonal Railway for better co-ordination for improving the reliability of Electric Locomotives to provide better services to Railways .

CLW’S LOCO DISPATCH FOR THE YEAR 2014-15
CHITTARANJAN, 30th April, 2015: Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), the premier electric loco production unit of Indian Railways, has achieved production of 250 locomotives in the year 2014-15 and thus fulfilled the target fixed by Railway Board . During the year, CLW produced 145 three phase locos which is all time high production of 3-phase locomotives in a year . The fulfillment of Board’s target not only proves this unit’s promise of continuously improving its production tally but also proved this unit’s determination and capability to get ahead of the time as well as face challenges and overcome them . The latest technology is being utilized for manufacturing of state of the art 3-phase energy efficient electric locomotives of 6000 HP for better and safer passenger & freight services over Indian Railways.
Officers and staff of CLW are jubilant for this achievement and have vowed to improve the production figure further in the year 2015-16. Congratulating every member of CLW family, Shri C. P. Tayal, General Manager , has expressed his satisfaction for fulfillment of the production target fixed by Railway Board. He also appealed all CLW employees to keep the momentum going for enhancing production further. CLW administration is leaving no stone unturned for fulfilling its highly ambitious targets in coming years.

DISPATCH OF LAST WAG-7 SHELL OF THE YEAR 2015-16
CHITTARANJAN, 07th August, 2015 ; The Last WAG-7 Shell of Chittaranjan Locomotive Works (CLW) for the year 2015-16, was flagged off on 07.08.15 by Shri C.P.Tayal, General Manager/ CLW in a ceremony inside the shop. On the occasion, Principal HODs, Senior Officers, members of Staff Council and staff of different shops of CLW were present.
Shri Harindra Rao, Chief Electrical Engineer ; Shri A.Singh, Chief Mechanical Engineer; Shri H.Narain,FA&CAO;Shri S.Barik,Controller of Stores; Shri B.R.Kanwar, Chief Engineer; Shri G.Srinivasa Rao, Chief Personnel Officer; Dr. Alok Majumdar, Chief Medical Officer; Shri G.Swain, Chief Mechanical Engineer/Loco; Shri R.K.Tiwary, Chief Electrical Engineer / Loco; Shri M.K.Gupta, Chief Electrical Engineer / L&S and Shri R.P.Mishra, Chief Electrical Engineer / TM,Shri P.N.Pandey,CMM were all present along with other officers of CLW.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri Tayal, GM/CLW, appreciated the efforts for such successful endeavor and hoped that with this CLW will be able to change completely to three phase production very soon.He announced a group cash award of Rs.30,000/- to the ELF group of shops.
