This used to originally go upto Jhansi only, right? I have traveled in this train, has much better patronage for it's full route[well it drops a bit on the JHS-GWL sector]than BJU-LJN Express whose AC patronage seriously suffers post GKP.

You probably have not seen the condition of this train under NR because of which you are saying this. Brahmaputra Mail must have been one of the worst maintained and least punctual trains of IR in those days (before COVID hit the streets). Traumatic memories tbh. The condition now is much better, train runs on time; Maintenance is still not good but if compared to earlier, much better.

So you haven’t seen the maintenance of this train when it used to originate from DBRG
The condition was worst when it used to have a PM at dli and even now after short termination at Kyq.

Alternatively, PM could have been transferred back to NR/DLI instead of short termination to KYQ. Anyways, there is 19 hrs lie over at DLI. There is no other daily in day time for dbrg from ghy as replacement.

This. I don't know how people can have such short memories. The least late non-premium train between Delhi and Guwahati used to be NE and that too was regularly 4-5 hr delayed. Only Rajdhanis used to run on time. PSK and BP were total disasters.

People have already started complaining about these new coaches. Earlier the Jan Shatabdi coaches in 2S used to have hand rest in all seats. Now they have all been replaced like a regular 2S seats which are face to face. So some complaints there. But I think railways has stopped production of JS LHB coaches so don't think it will get changed
