The Sengottai - Chennai Egmore Pothigai Superfast Express (12662), Tirunelveli - Chennai Egmore Superfast Express (12632), and Kanniyakumari - Chennai Egmore Express (12634) will be short terminated at Chengalpattu. The Tiruchi Railway Division, where the Uzhavan Express is based, also received the Overall Runners-up GM’s Efficiency Shield for the same period. This division has two Broad Gauge Coach Maintenance Depots, one at Tiruchi and another at Villupuram, maintaining over 400 coaches, including DEMU rakes. The Tiruchi Coach Care Centre handles the primary maintenance of several inter-state express trains, including the Tiruchi - Howrah, Mannargudi - Bhagat Ki Kothi, and Tiruchi - Thiruvananthapuram Intercity expresses. Each train undergoes thorough examination, including its bogies, braking system, wheels, couplers, and springs, during primary maintenance. A structured schedule ensures regular maintenance for all train sets. The Villupuram Coaching Depot takes care of other inter-state express trains, including the Villupuram- Kharagpur, Puducherry - Mangaluru, and Villupuram -Purulia expresses.
