This is the second derailment incident in four days between Muzaffarpur and Narayanpur. Senior officials directed the taking of a blood sample from shunting driver Vinod Kumar to check for alcohol consumption. Initial investigation suggests negligence on the part of Vinod Kumar, and a preliminary report has been sent to headquarters. Disciplinary action could be taken against the driver if found guilty after the investigation on Sunday.
