एक बोल्डर इंजन से टकराया, जिससे इंजन का कैटल गार्ड बुरी तरह से ख़राब हो गया। कानपुर सेंट्रल से एक राहत ट्रेन को मैदान पर भेजा गया है और स्टेशन पर यात्रियों की मदद के लिए एक केंद्र भी खोल दिया गया है। रेल प्रशासन ने यात्रियों के लिए बसें और एक स्पेशल ट्रेन से वैकल्पिक परिवहन की व्यवस्था की है। इसके अलावा, डेरिलमेंट की वजह से कई ट्रेनों को कैंसिल कर दिया गया है या उनके रूट बदल दिए गए हैं। रेल मंत्री अश्विनी वैष्णव ने बताया कि डेरिलमेंट ट्रैक पर रखी कोई चीज़ से इंजन के टकराने की वजह से हुआ है और आईबी और यूपी पुलिस इस पर जाँच कर रहे हैं।
